A novel on several levels On occasion I just stopped and let silence allow the deep idea to sink in It was the book Jack Lemmon wanted on his desert island and I understand why Humanity ripples through the entwined stories in an often wry and always accessible way Wonderful At Play in the Fields of the Lord Thought provoking good read Amazing book jeune-adulte-contemporain Excellent in every way The characters are strong and engaging The story moves along rapidly and is rivetingIt's never an easy task to portray hunter gatherer folk in a novel but here I think the author succeeds admirably His descriptions have a feel of authenticity and are keenly observedI'll definitely be checking out from Mr Matthiessen Excellent product and service
