How to Prune Fruit Trees, Twentieth Edition By R. Sanford Martin
its ok womens-rights loved this book. Pictures and description of the pruning of different trees very clear and helpful. Shows clearly where to prune and what to look for.hopping for a bumper crop this year with the help of this book. A must for fruit trees. This book does not give you a detailed drawing of how to prune fruit trees , the drawings are very small and not clear. The book is also out of date when it comes to the best time to prune plum trees, it says prune in winter , but to avoid deseases they should be prune in July. Interesting historical repro but not a good pruning guide for the 21st Century. Some techniques would be considered rather old fashioned, now that a bit is understood about the behaviour of plant growth hormones, etc. Note that this book is directed at the US market. Some of the advice, such as pruning stone fruits when dormant, is definitely not applicable to the UK.
